Abstract:

In the paper the authors describe the shell structures of Pseudamnicola cf. moussoni (CALCARA) from the Vravrona estuary (Attica, Greece). The protoconch and teleoconch outer surface as well as the inner structure of the teleoconch which can be seen in shell sections perpendicular and parallel to the growth lines, are described. The structures show a mosaic of typically hydrobioid characters coupled with some unique pseudamnicolan characters. There also is some similarity between the structures of Pseudamnicola and the ones of some non-hydrobioid rissoaceans studied so far.
