Abstract:

The present paper brings some new informations about the geographical distribution of six species of Reduviidae in Western Palearctics, namely in France. In this frame, the discriminating values of several morphological characters of these species are discussed. Rhynocoris rubricus Germar, 1816, is for the first time indicated in France (Var, Alpes-Maritimes, Corse); Rh. cuspidatus Ribaut, 1921, is excluded from fauna of Greece, Cyprus and Albania, and its occurrence in Switzerland and Corsica appears doubtful, as well as the occurrence of Rh. iracundus Poda, 1761 in Corsica; the presence of Metapterus caspicus Dohm, 1863 in France and Italy is ascertained; M. linearis Costa, 1862 is indicated for the first time in Turkmenia; the distributional area of Ischnonyctes barbarus must include Tunisia, but exclude Turkey. A lectotype for Mantisoma aptera Jakovlev is designated in the course of the work.
