[The marking pattern of Cyprus green toads Bufo viridis ssp (Salientia Bufonidae).] (in German)

Comparing green toads, Bufo viridis, from the Mediterranean islands of Corfu, Corsica, Crete, Rhodes, Sardinia, and Cyprus, we found that in specimens from Cyprus special skin patterns of coloration evolved which enable us to separate them from green toads of other origin. Despite this fact taxonomic consequences should be drawn only after elucidation of phylogenetic relationships with the mainland forms of the Mediterranean region.
