| Abstract: | Monthly sampling of the soil mesofauna of an insular ecosystem (in the island of Naxos, Cyclades) revealed some new features about the fauna composition and the activity periods. 15 species have been recorded - 4 of them not previously mentioned in the whole of the Cyclades -, among the Isopoda and Diplopoda, which are active in the surface and in the litter during 7 months roughly. Important differences have been noticed in the time-distribution of some elements. Species of mediterranean distribution - some of east-mediterranean or even aegean - prevail. |
