Abstract: | The study of all known taxa of the genus in the male sex have reveled even seven new species, herein described: aethiops Tripolitania), anatolica (Turkey) impressiventris (Western Sahara), bicornuta (Cyprus), invreai (Tunisia), osellai (Turkey) and acanthosterna (Turkey). The status of the existing taxa have been reevaluated, some corrections were made to the recently introduced changes (Petersen, 1988), with addition of two chromatic forms, in order to clarify the established interpretation of interspecific color-pattern relations. The illustrated key to all taxa is given, primarily based on the genitalia. The recognition of four species-groups of presumed phylogenetic affinities is proposed. The actual distribution for all taxa, based on the completely revised records, is illustrated and discussed. |
