Abstract:

Eukoenenia mirabilis (Grassi) is known at the time from four of the Macaronesian Islands, in cave (Madeira) or in soil (La Palma, Gran Canaria, Tenerife). All specimens (58) are female. A part of the adults (29) are "typical", with glandular setae on the IV-th opisthosomian sternite, but others, from Madeira (3) and Tenerife (23) lack these setae and their glandular system. Such females are also known from Iraklia (Aegean Sea), North Africa and Portugal. Waiting for additional material, we suggest to classify provisionally these atypical females under "forma lusitana Remy in CONDE " without prejudging of their right nomenclature status.
