Abstract:

Four faunal surveys (1985-1988-1989-1990) were conducted in various hydrobiotopes in Greece, from Thrace to Peloponnesus: larvae of Archanara geminipuncta were collected in reeds from Evrous river to Central and Western Greece in 12 locations out of 15 prospected. A. sparganii and Nonagria typhae were reported in typha stands from Evrous river to Central Greece only, for the first species and from the same river to Salonika for the second species plus the island of Euboea and North Peloponnesus. Only one individual of A. dissoluta was collected during the whole survey in the delta of Pinios river. The southern limit of the main species in Greece is considered not to run far south of the 39th parallel. This limit could be partly regulated by the summer maximum temperatures. A parasitoid, Lydella thompsoni which is common to the 4 phytophagous species was also recorded.
