An uniform preparation is proposed making easy the determination and measurement of specimens. Coiffait's paper (1974) is completed by illustrations of aedocagi of several species. New synonyms are propsed: Atlantogoerius Coiffait, 1956, syn. nov. to Pseudocypus Mulsant and Rey; Metocypus Coiffait, 1962, syn. nov. to Alapsodus Tottenham. Alapsodus olympicus (Baudi) is resurrected, and therefore A. rubripennis (Reiche) is not a member of the fauna of Cyprus. Two new species are described from central Asia: Ocypus hissaricus sp. nov. and O. svozili sp. nov.
