| Abstract: | The spatial dispersion of hard substratum polychaete populations was studied in two sub-areas of the North Aegean: Thermaikos Gulf, which is under the influence of organic pollution and Chalkidiki. The evaluation of the proposed methods to assess disturbance, originally developed on soft substratum communities, reveals that multivariate analyses based on relative abundance are better applicable in hard substratum, compared to univariate ones and to those based on size changes of the fauna. |
